| Jeff Baron is a sporadic lyricist. At Northwestern University he worked with a variety of composers, most notably Franni Burke, Michael Mark and Bob Dahlin. Jeff's songs were frequently performed both on campus and in shows in and around Chicago. His cable series The Jeff Baron Show featured an original song in each episode. He and Franni Burke wrote two songs featured in his award-winning film The Bruce Diet, including "Ooh, My Pants are Tight". Jeff had a fruitful collaboration with composer Dean X Johnson, which included songs performed at Carnegie Hall and concert halls around the U.S. Their one act opera, Song of Martina, about the life of tennis great Martina Navratilova, debuted at Carnegie Hall, with subsequent performances at Merkin Hall and a theatrical run in Los Angeles. Jeff and Dean were in the midst of writing an original musical when Dean X Johnson passed away. Jeff was commissioned by the Los Angeles Opera to write an original one act opera. Escape, the piece he wrote got caught up in an operatic censorship battle and was never performed. Jeff is currently at work on a full length musical show.
